Spring Lane CAL with Drops – A progress update

The Drops-along Spring Lane CAL (Crochet ALong) 2017 is this time a beautiful blanket that are crocheted during 13 weeks.

We are now upon week 9 and after being hammered with tiny little flowers for some weeks now it’s finally time for two big ones again. Don’t get me wrong, the small ones are super cute and all but if anyone sais that it’s going to be yet another 28 little mini-squares next week, I will surely scream. 😉

I still have a few pieces left from week 7 and 8 but I’m working hard to be back on track again. It’s going to be a mama/papa/baby blanket for two of my nearest and dearest friends that are expecting their precious little baby before summer. I hope they will love it!

Happy Easter

I hope you all are having a lovely weekend with lots of good food, candy and loved ones around you. This actually describes our latest three days. Intense but amazing and filled with hugs and precious moments.

On Friday we went to my father and celebrated with his part of my family. A lot of salmon, shrimps, eggs and herrings. And my sisters amazing cheesecake. Yum!

Yesterday it was time for egg hunt and another food frenzy but this time at my mother in law and on the theme lamb. Lots of fun, laughter and good talks. I also finished crocheting my daughters Easter bunny that you can read about here. Was an adorable project to work on and I’m so happy that she loved her gift.

And lastly, today we are visiting my mothers. And again we got a lot of good food: herrings, chicken and local eggs from the hens next door. But however gorgeous the tiny eggs are; the best was saved to last. My brother brought then different kinds of desserts from his work and needless to say; we are stuffed. Finished another pair of my beloved wrist warmers but now I’ll give my hooks a break. It’s time to get serious and play some games.

Wish you a great evening, tomorrow it’s “Sunday” again. 😄

The cutest little bunny

I’ve been working on this little project on and off for some time now, and as Easter came up closer it felt like it was the perfect time to finish this lovely lady. She was so much fun to do and turned out super cute.

The pattern is by the talented Kikalite and is easy to follow with great pics and clear instructions. I made a change by choosing to add a removable floral wreath instead of sewing the flowers right on. This way she can have more options for my daughter to play with. And needless to say; she loved her Easter gift!

Easter crocheted DIY:s

Easter is here, time really flies! I’ve listed some quick, free and fun little projects if you feel like doing some crocheting between the egg hunts and food feasts.

Small bunnies and eggs that’s super cute and quick.

Or how about these gorgeous wind flower decoration?! They are quite addictive so I have several more in different pastels. So so cute!

Or a small crocheted egg that you embroider something cute on?

If you have a little more time you could easily wip up a few egg warmers. This one I made free handed so I don’t have a pattern but there are plenty of patterns to find on google or Pinterest.

Happy Easter!

The Floral Auroral Wall Hanging

I do love the idea of a wall hanging in our living room but I haven’t found a design I loved so I decided to try to make one myself.  And here you have it! Meet my latest love: the Floral Auroral wall hanging.

Floral Auroral

It’s still in the making but the main piece is done. I could keep on adding flowers forever but I think a smaller version is the best way to start. I can always make another.. That’s if I was writing the pattern down. I actually started writing and then I got swept away by the creative flow and forgot all about the pencil. But I will try to back track myself. Are you interested in me making a pattern for this?

I used the gorgeous yarn Catona from Scheepjes in the colors Baby Blue (509) and Shadow Purple (394). There may be more colors added but I haven’t decided yet on whether or not it should have tassels or raindrops falling down from under the “cloud”. Any suggestions?

New yarn in – Sandnes Fritidsgarn

Yesterday, I just happened to drop by our local yarn store. It’s a very small store packed with yarn from floor to roof and has the most friendliest of owner who always has something nice to say and a new yarn to show. And as always I didn’t come out empty handed. Six new colors are now added to my stash. I’m so so happy. It’s simply perfect.

As I do have quite a lot of larger projects going at the moment; I wanted something that is made fairly quick and effortless. Something that was in the line with spring and Easter. I’m thinking eggs, flowers, colors and nature. So I asked the shop owner and she immediately new what I needed (I love those kind of people, hihi)! And there it was: Sandnes Fritidsgarn. A thick and sturdy Norwegian yarn made out of 100% wool in gorgeous matte shades. We will have so much fun together!

A little time ago I got the most exiting call from the amazing Nina from @favoritgarner. She had a challenge for me: and I loved it! After following their development over this year, starting by doing their stunning CAL in bloom with pattern from @mijocrochet, I have to admit being a bit starstruck. Nedless to say; she kind of had me at hello.

The challenge was to make something for myself on the theme home decoration. And this will most certainty come as no surprise to you fellow yarn lovers but when someone calls and asks what you want to do; you either go blank or have a million ideas. I went for the later! So it was thereby such a challenge just to narrow it down to one main idea. Their is just too many fun things to do.. After juggling ideas with Nina we finally managed to narrow it down to one fluffy, cozy, giant project: a huge floor pillow!

And then followed the next awesome challenge: to choose yarn and colors! After a lot of window shopping of, and drooling over, their large yarn assortment I found my partners in crime: two very different yarns by Scheepjes. Say hello to the soft, silky smooth and oh so lovely Eliza, and her sturdier but just as gorgeous friend Bloom. I will tell you more about them in a yarnreview.

I hope you are as exited as I am and wish to follow me in this process. I will post updates, pics and other things both here and on my Instagram. It’s gonna be great, and most certainly challanging!
